By aclineo on June 4, 2011

The Alexander McQueen 260683 BCQ0O 9250 clutch is soft and elegant which makes it just right for this time of year. I can just picture this bag worn with a divine sundress for an outdoor brunch (which sounds oh-so delectable). As previously mentioned, the light pink coloring of this clutch is what really makes it special because not only is it incredibly versatile, but it’s also quite easy to work with. You can effortlessly pair it with something light and casual or dress it up a bit for a slightly more formal occasion.

LET’S GET TECHNICAL — This Alexander McQueen creation was made in Italy and it’s measurements are as follows:

It also features a top zip closure with an interior lining which has a back wall zip pocket and multifunctional slip pocket.

Luxury for Less: Rampage Callie Tote

By aclineo on June 3, 2011

Bold patterns are all the rage at the moment and the Rampage Callie tote captures this trend beautifully. Not only that, but this handbag embraces another fun trend — throwback looks. Everywhere you turn in the fashion world at the moment you can see clear inspirations from the ’60s and the ’70s and this particular bag has a nice hippie vibe with its tie dye-looking pattern. The rope detailing on the handles is also a lovely added bonus which brings in elements of beachwear and resort pieces.

Rampage Callie Tote (Teal)

This teal/merigold combo bag is definitely the most eye-catching of all the varieties and as such, it’s my personal fave.

Rampage Callie Tote (Mocha)

If you’re looking for something a bit more toned down and versatile, this mocha one is definitely the best choice in the bunch because its color palette adapts rather well to most looks out there. Not only that, but it beautifully transitions from season to season so this is the kind of bag that can be worn all year long without ever looking out of place.

Rampage Callie Tote (Zebra)

As far as trends go, animal prints have definitely made the strongest showing this year because even in fall/winter, they were absolutely everywhere! Because this style is so popular, it’s pretty rare to stumble upon such a unique take as what we have here with the zebra and leopard variations.

Antik Batik Deluxe Shoulder Bag

By DHP on June 1, 2011

The Antik Batik Deluxe shoulder bag has a sultry, deep-red color which instantly makes me think of the dog days of summer. After all, this bag is just perfect for those casual days when it’s like an oven outside but you just can’t help but piece together a chic ensemble for the day. For example, the Wardrobe Ideas below demonstrate how this bag can really add a nice pop to your favorite ensemble.

What’s great about the Deluxe shoulder bag is that it bridges the gap between uber sophistication and cool trendiness so it easily makes the sometimes-perilous transition from uptown to downtown chic. This is an important quality for a handbag to have because if you’re like me, then your eclectic style fluctuates from day to day and it’s great to have pieces which can work regardless of what you’re wearing.

LET’S GET TECHNICAL:

This bag measures in at 6.5″H x 9.5″L x 2″D, its strap has a 13″ drop, and the fabric is (as you’ve probably guessed) gorgeous, authentic snakeskin. It has a magnetic closure on the front flap so it’s nice and secure and as you can see, all along the double-strap we have some lovely antique brass detailing going on. All in all, this is quite the strong showing from Antik Batik.

2 for the Price of 1: FOLEY & CORINNA Rio Mid City Bag

By aclineo on April 21, 2011

The Rio Mid City bag by Foley + Corinna is fab and functional, and it really illustrates the downtown chic vibe of the label. I must admit that I like the camel version better because its color is so bright and vibrant, and it serves as the perfect backdrop for the etched pattern. Camel was definitely the hottest color of this past fall/winter ’10 fashion season but it’s such a wonderful color that I’m more than willing to extend its wear throughout 2011, as well. In addition, take note of how the bag can be folded over and worn as a cross-body/messenger bag because that really adds to its functionality.

Alexander Wang Marion Mini Flap Bag

By aclineo on April 20, 2011

The Alexander Wang Marion Mini Flap bag has an effortless aura which makes it perfect for on-the-go fashionistas. Its mono-toned coloration also feeds in to this description because as you can see, it goes with absolutely everything! The rose gold corner pieces are without a doubt my favorite thing about this handbag because rose gold is hotter than ever and more importantly, it’s an embellishment you just don’t come across to often. Let’s hear it for creativity!

D&G DB0876 E4595 Handbag

By aclineo on April 14, 2011

The D&G DB0876 E4595 handbag is absolutely prefect for this time of year because its checkered fabric reminds me of picnics at the park. It’s always lovely to see cheeky designs like this from such a high-end fashion house as Dolce & Gabbana because it demonstrates that luxurious design can still be fun. Furthermore, not only has D&G somehow managed to make red-and-white checkers seem wearable, but you’ve gotta admit that this handbag is also tres chic!

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN 260696 AM70O 1000 Clutch

By Bagista on April 14, 2011

This Alexander McQueen clutch is the epitome of chic elegance thanks to its sleek and sophisticated design. The shiny black fabric really lends itself well here because it highlights the bow-like detailing on the clasp. The silver bit right in the center is also perfectly placed and it does a great job of breaking up the black while providing balance. This is undoubtedly a formal clutch and because of its top-notch design and craftsmanship, it really looks like something you’d see at a Hollywood red carpet event or some sort of exclusive gala.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD Frilly Snake Large Tote

By DHP on April 10, 2011

Vivienne Westwood’s Frilly Snake Large tote is aptly named because its main feature is definitely the striking snakeskin pattern. Take note of how the fabric has been placed because the wide, rounded ridges going right down the middle really add a cool effect. The black piping also does a wonderful job of accentuating the bag’s flawless shape and design features. All in all, this handbag is pretty simple and straightforward which makes it quite wearable and versatile.

Tory Burch Crescent Straw Tote

By aclineo on April 10, 2011

Not only is the Tory Burch Crescent Straw tote vividly eye-catching, but it also embraces the spring/summer ’11 trend of island-inspired accessories. This handbag captures its tropical flavor from the use of straw as the main material, as well as its distinct pattern. The main motif looks like it was inspired by the sun, a large flower petal, or maybe even both. Either way, the black and beige coloration looks amazing and this dynamic bag is impossible to forget.

2 for the Price of 1: D&G Dolce & Gabbana Medium Kori Tote

By aclineo on April 6, 2011

The D&G Dolce & Gabbana Medium Kori tote is so minimalistic it’s basically a blank canvas and while some may view that as a bad thing, I think it’s actually beneficial. People often mistakenly assume that just because a bag isn’t loaded with embellishments left and right, then it’s just plain and boring. However, the simplest accessories tend to be the most wearable because they can be put on without concern that they’ll overpower the main outfit. Furthermore, a handbag like this one is completely timeless so it’s definitely one that can be carried for years and years to come.

MICHAEL KORS Skorpios Ring Tote

By DHP on April 6, 2011

The Michael Kors Skorpios Ring tote is so chic and sophisticated, it instantly caught my eye and I couldn’t stop staring at it. This handbag is so luxe that it looks about 10 times more expensive than it actually is. The white one is especially striking because the combination of the main color with the rich brown and gold in the handles is to die for. The black one is also radiant in its own right and to be perfectly honest, both of these gorgeous totes can have a warm and comfy place to stay inside my closet as far as I’m concerned.

Luxury for Less: RAMPAGE Abbey Small Flap

By Bagista on April 6, 2011

We’ve written many blog posts about what a hot trend tassels will be for this year’s spring/summer season so it’s great to see this implemented on a much more affordable scale. The Rampage Abbey Small Flap handbag has a classic, almost vintage-looking style and let’s face it — you simply can’t go wrong with chic and timeless. This bag also has an interesting pattern on display which adds depth and dimension to the overall design. Although I really like the color selection here, I must admit that I’m pretty partial to the Pinkberry one!

BALLY TEXI TC Hobo Bag

By Bagista on April 4, 2011

The Texi TC hobo bag by Bally has quite the unique look going on because its overall shape and framework is like nothing else out there. Furthermore, this handbag looks like it’s one-of-a-kind. That’s important because Bally is a luxury brand and frankly, nobody wants to shell out tons of money for a ho-hum, forgettable bag. This bag in particular makes brilliant use of its contrasting color tones which really emphasize the curved shape. As far as functionality is concerned, the Texi TC hobo bag is large, comfortable, and there’s tons of storage space so this bag is definitely strong in that category.

SPOTLIGHT: Diane von Furstenberg Animal Print Minaudieres

By aclineo on April 4, 2011

Diane von Furstenberg’s Animal Print minaudieres are a master class on how to do an animal prints with the utmost class. This trend has always been popular but unfortunately, it hasn’t always been so well-executed. DVF definitely got it right with these minaudieres because not only are they sophisticated, but they still make a bold fashion statement — especially the zebra one. Zebra prints aren’t very common and I really really love the rich brown color combination because it looks exactly like chocolate!

MARC BY MARC JACOBS Bianca Jane On A Chain Bag

By aclineo on April 2, 2011

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Bianca Jane On A Chain bag is subtle and casual without sacrificing sophistication. The sheer simplicity of this bag makes it tremendously versatile because it adapts so easily from look to look. Not only that, but its contrasting coloration makes a very strong impact. With that said, I definitely prefer the spinach one over the black because the vivid green with the gold detailing has such a beautiful harmony going on. Not to mention, chain-handled shoulder bags are hotter than ever so what we have here is yet another solid Marc Jacobs creation.

Battle of the Bags: Cole Haan Vs. Isaac Mizrahi

By aclineo on March 31, 2011

The Kendra Vintage Valise tote by Cole Haan and the Spazzalato Leather Chic tote by Isaac Mizrahi have two major qualities in common: they’re both similarly-shaped totes and they both have a vivid green color.

The biggest glaring difference between these two bags is undoubtedly the price point. The Mizrahi costs $1,350 while the Cole Haan rakes in at $428, which is over 300% less! They’re both made from high quality leather so it’s not like the difference in price is because one is faux while the other is real. With that said, the Spazzalato tote really looks luxurious and expensive so even if I didn’t have the numbers in front of me, I’d know which one was more expensive.

When it comes to sheer size, the Mizrahi bag is also significantly larger so if you’re a student or something and space is an important factor, then it’s pretty clear which bag wins out in that category. Along those same lines, the Kendra tote has a much more understated color tone so that really lends itself well to the bag’s overall wearability and versatility.

Therefore, the Kendra Vintage Valise tote by Cole Haan is the winner because its look is easier to pull of with everyday styles and its price is much less daunting. If you can afford the Spazzalato bag, then by all mans go for it because it’s clearly stunning but I can’t really recommend it over the Cole Haan bag because of the huge gap in affordability.

L.A.M.B. Signature Tribal Williamsfield Tote

By Bagista on March 29, 2011

L.A.M.B. Signature Tribal Williamsfield tote looks like something you’d find at MOMA — and that’s a good thing! The Tribal Williamsfield tote is aptly named because tribal garb is the first thing that came to mind when I saw this bag. The dark brown and white coloration is also fantastic because the contrast really brings out the intricate pattern. Vivid handbags like this can be a little intimidating but this particular bag demonstrates that patterns can be wearable with everyday looks.

GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI EB1047 Bag

By DHP on March 29, 2011

Giuseppe Zanotti’s EB1047 bag is eye-catching to say the least. There’s an unwritten rule that thick, vertical, black & white stripes are a recipe for bold design and that’s exactly what you get with this clutch. Not only that, but Giuseppe Zanotti has managed to take a pretty popular formula and transform it into a unique creation. Because of the bag’s diminutive size, the in-your-face pattern is able to make a strong impact without affecting the overall wearability.

Elie Tahari Maggie Clutch

By DHP on March 29, 2011

The Maggie clutch by Elie Tahari has a sleek elegance which is the result of its minimalistic design. The body of this bag features a series of thin horizontal stripes which are not only classy, but very easy on the eyes. Furthermore, the color choices are both very wearable and versatile so this isn’t a one-off bag which just ends up gathering dust in the back of your closet somewhere. All in all, Elie Tahari hit all of the right marks with the Maggie clutch — and then some.

Alexander Wang Emile Tote

By Bagista on March 27, 2011

The Emile tote by Alexander Wang has a unique design which fully embraces its distinctive shape. The geometric features of this bag are impossible to ignore and I love how on the bottom section, the metal corner pieces really emphasize the bag‘s trapezoid shape. Furthermore, the color schemes of the Emile tote are absolutely perfect — especially the lovely contrast seen in the black and rose gold version.

SPOTLIGHT: Zimmerman Straw Bags

By DHP on March 27, 2011

Island-inspired handbags are a major trend for the spring/summer 2011 season and the Zimmerman straw bags really demonstrate why that is.

The term “island-inspired” can really represent a whole host of things but in my opinion, woven bags are the best interpretation because not only are they widely produced (and thus easy to find), but they have a beautiful look which is surprisingly timeless. This means that even if this trend is no longer “in” next year, you’ll still be able to wear woven handbag and look just as chic as before. The Zimmerman bags also show that just because a bag is made of straw, that doesn’t mean it can’t look sophisticated and luxurious.

Rebecca Minkoff Paramour Satchel

By Bagista on March 27, 2011

Rebecca Minkoff‘s Paramour satchel has a luminescent leather which looks like it’s glowing from within. This bag would look absolutely gorgeous on a nice day because the bright sunshine would make the fabric appear that much more radiant. The dynamic between the rounded shape of the Paramour satchel and the diagonal zipper should be noted because they really offset each other well. This bag also measures in at an impressive 11″H x 13″L x 4″D so size is not an issue here.

Burberry Dark Chocolate Granville Tote

By Bagista on March 25, 2011

The Burberry Dark Chocolate Bag Granville tote has a timeless elegance which is the result of its minimalistic design and high-quality craftsmanship. This is definitely not the type of bag which is “in” one season and passé the next. The Granville tote is the kind of bag I actually wouldn’t mind investing money into because I know I’ll be able to wear it as much as I want for years and years to come. In addition, its size makes it quite functional and versatile so there’s no worry about it gathering dust in the back of the closet or anything like that.

Temperley London Celestial Coin Purse

By DHP on March 25, 2011

Temperley London’s Celestial coin purse looks like a pint-sized piece of artwork because its design is so simple yet creative. Coin purses tend to fall by the wayside because most people just toss extra coins in their bag or keep them in somewhere their wallet. However, coin purses can be pretty handy-dandy because they’re so small and easy to carry. I usually think of them as mini-wristlets and as you can see with this Temperley London bag in particular, beautiful design comes in all shapes and sizes. Furthermore, keep in mind that even small accessories can still be useful!

Matt & Nat Zocalo Bag

By aclineo on March 25, 2011

As far as eco friendly handbags go, Matt & Nat is really in a class of its own. People often mistakenly believe that green fashion has to be made of hemp and recycled plastic but au contraire! The Zocalo bag demonstrates that you can still make green wardrobe choices without sacrificing style. This handbag features a bright, eye-catching print which is durable and well-made so in addition to looking good, the Zocalo bag also happens to be quite functional.
